You’ll never know
How often I sit
And gaze at your face.
When you lie on your mat, lost in unknown dreams,
As I watch you running, with young laughter in your eyes
Or when that defiant look crosses your face
And you don’t understand how much I love you.
Then my heart gives this funny little twist
(That I can’t really explain and I never will be able to)
And I want to hang on to you, and never, ever, ever let them take you away.
